1. Why is the protein diet so popular?
With the protein diet, losing weight is extremely quick and easy.
Instead of carbohydrates and fats: protein, protein, protein.
The following advantages are also available:
Benefits of increased protein intake:
- Easy implementation
- Easy integration into everyday life
- No starving
- Rapid success
- No calorie counting
- Low risk of the yo-yo effect
- Increased metabolism activation over a longer period of time
- Burn calories faster
- Protection against muscle breakdown with negative energy balance
- Burns body fat faster
This is how the protein diet becomes a success
In order to lose weight effectively and sustainably, it is important that you use high-quality protein sources - this is the only way to achieve your goal. If you cannot fully meet your increased protein needs through diet, we recommend our delicious protein products as a supplement. From protein flakes to muesli and protein bars to classic protein shakes - there is something for every taste. Convince yourself:
Due to the slower processing of proteins in the body, the metabolism remains active longer and more calories are burnt during digestion. The pounds tumble rapidly with reduced calorie intake. An additional sports program intensifies the effect.
Since the body meets its energy requirements with a low-calorie intake by breaking down the body's own substance, the body likes to use muscle cells as an energy supplier. Increased protein intake counteracts muscle breakdown. According to nutrition experts, the probability of a yo-yo effect is also lower than with other diets.
If you eat vegetarian or vegan, you can carry out a protein diet with the help of vegan protein. Find out everything about vegetable protein in our article.

2. Protein diet: how does it work?
The main part of what is eaten during a protein diet is protein-containing foods.
Eggs, lean meat, fish, vegetables and milk products such as reduced-fat cheese and yogurt are served on the plate. Also, protein shakes can be a meaningful part of a protein diet as with any diet, there are also in the protein diet a list of forbidden foods. Here you will find carbohydrate-rich foods such as pasta, rice and potatoes. Due to the high fructose content, fruit should also only be eaten in small quantities - as should whole grains.
Fat, depending on which one, can raise the cholesterol level and should therefore only be consumed in small doses, or avoided. Therefore, caution is advised especially with sausage products, because they contain a lot of protein, but often also a too large amount of unhealthy fats.
Polyunsaturated fats (e.g. nuts) and omega 3 fatty acids (e.g. in linseed and salmon) are particularly healthy. Trans fats (as in deep-fried and ready-made products) should be avoided.

4. Lose weight without hunger

The advantage of a protein diet is that you can use the full variety of protein-rich foods. Your creativity knows no limits. How about, for example, a refreshing chia seed lemonade with berries? White organic chia seeds are ideal for a diet because they contain 21 g protein (per 100 g) and are rich in unsaturated fatty acids. For the lemonade, simply fill up 2 teaspoons of chia seeds in a glass with cold mineral water and add a little lemon juice, berries of your choice (blueberries are particularly low in fructose) and mint - done. Get an appetite?
There should be a maximum of three hours between meals because the metabolism of the protein diet should be kept in constant use.
Another reason for this: protein-rich and low-fat diet contain far fewer calories than carbohydrate-rich. In addition, protein-rich food keeps you full longer, so that less is automatically eaten.

5. Protein shakes as an aid and supplement
Protein shakes provide your body with the necessary proteins and usually contain very little carbohydrates and fats.
As is well known, the eye eats (and drinks): Spiced up with low-fructose fruits (e.g. blueberries) and crunchy nuts, a shake with our whey protein looks at least as good as it tastes.

Protein shakes designed for weight loss usually contain:
If a meal is supplemented by protein shakes, this should ideally be done with dinner. This is because usable proteins such as casein can be absorbed particularly well by the body during the night.
There is less hunger when you wake up the next morning if you don't eat carbohydrates in the evening.
Of course, the shake should be of high quality and free of genetic engineering, antibiotic and hormone residues.
Breakfast
Omelet without egg yolk (the egg yolk is too high in fat and carbohydrates) or a protein shake.
Having lunch
Lean meat or fish, each with carefully prepared (best steamed) vegetables or raw food. Home-made strawberry yogurt could be served for dessert.
Dinner
Fish or meat and vegetables. As far as the combination is concerned, there are no limits to the imagination.
