Keto vegan food is the best during the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is composed of vegetables, fruits, nuts and enough water.

 

What is the Ketogenic Diet Plan?

The ketogenic diet is a high fat, adequate-protein, low carbohydrate diet combination based on vegetables that have taken the driver’s seat in Coronavirus Pandemic across the globe.

Originally, it was a medical food combination suggested for epilepsy in children and youth. In the current Pandemic situation, experts are suggesting vegetarian meals with an emphasis on nutritional values from nuts, fruits and other supplements. This veg combination boosts digestive power while minimizing internal complications that might arise from meats. This will reduce our vulnerability towards Covid-19 and minimize our public exposure under global lockdown.

For, such foods can be refrigerated with appropriate steps. It will help you prepare various tasty combinations at home for satisfying your children rather than depending on market-based processed or semi-processed foods. It will also help you to reduce unnecessary weight due to lockdown.

 

WHO’s suggestions on Vegan Keto Diet

WHO has suggested that eating a healthy diet is very important during the COVID-19 pandemic. The selection of food materials has paramount importance for our body’s ability to prevent, fight and recover from infections. It is true that no foods or dietary supplements can prevent or cure COVID-19 infection.

But healthy diets are important for supporting immune systems and fighting spirit. Because, good foods and nutrition can reduce the likelihood of developing other health problems, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes and some types of cancer. Even a Covid-19 infected patient can be cured easily compared to patients who are suffering from comorbidity. So, the quality and variety of foods are immensely important.

For babies, a healthy diet means exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months, with the introduction of nutritious and safe foods to complement breastmilk from age 6 months to 2 years and beyond. For young children, a healthy and balanced diet is essential for growth and development. For older people, it can help ensure healthier and more active lives.

People with comorbidity are more prone to Covid-19, in case they come into contact with the virus. Comorbidity is the state of health of a person who has been already suffering from other permanent ailments such as diabetes, heart disease, lung problems, kidney troubles, etc.  Morbidity is illness or sickness.

 

Low Carb Vegan Foods

  • Eat varieties of foods including fruits and vegetables for greater fulfillment of all types of vitamins and nutrition.

  • It is better to choose wholegrain foods like unprocessed maize, millet, oats, wheat and brown rice that have husks. They are rich in valuable fiber and can help you feel full for longer.

  • About 50 years ago poor people used to eat husky wheat and grain, while the richer used to eat refined foods eliminating the husks. This has totally reversed now.

  • Do not eat extra salt at all. It is best to limit salt intake to 5 grams (equivalent to a teaspoon) per day per person.

  • When you are cooking food, reduce the use of salty sauces and condiments (like soya sauce, stock or fish sauce).

  • If you want to eat canned or dried food, it is better to choose varieties of vegetables, nuts and fruit, without added salt and sugars.

  • Always keep an eye on product composition, date and sodium content.

  • Minimize your intake of fats and oils. It is better to replace butter, ghee and lard with healthy fats such as olive oil, sunflower oil, soya oil for cooking.

  • Eat boiled food instead of fried food.

  • Also, minimize the intake of sweets and sugary drinks.

  • It is better to prepare direct fruit juice with the help of a mixer. No other food on earth can replace mixed fruit juice made at home.

  • Do not give and habituate your children with packed fruit juice which use preservatives and high sugar.

  • Drink sufficient water the whole day. Remain hydrated all day long. But never drink water immediately after a meal. Give a gap of 60 minutes after taking a meal.

  • Do not drink hazardous alcohol. Never drink alcohol in the day time. If you are on a scientific excursion during day time, at best drink premium beer with low alcohol content is the best choice.

  • Almighty Nature has created breast milk for babies and children for almost all animals. Humans are no exception. So, breastfeed babies and young children. It supplies adequate nutrition. It is better for both child and mother.

  • Keep an eye on low-calorie foods because during Pandemic lockdown, our physical work has been reduced.

  • You should choose food items in such a way that your family members eat an ideal balanced food. That is the best way to boost immunity.
